Following years of critical and global success as members of The Boxer Rebellion, Tennessee-born Nathan Nicholson and Londoner Adam Harrison have teamed up with multi-award winning filmmaker Ben Lankester to launch a new project exploring their instinctive responses to the current state of the world.
First track, ‘The American Dream’, is about mis-laid patriotism. Inspired by Springsteen's often misunderstood 'Born In The USA', the song can be interpreted as both ironic or as an uncomplicated celebration. Further reference to that era comes in the form of a searing Sax outro by the legendary Johnny Colla of 'Huey Lewis and The News'.
Ben Lankester’s forthcoming film for ‘The American Dream’ is a personal character study of a young aspiring boxer, whose intelligence, strength and skill is beyond doubt. It is a powerful visualisation of the great potential in all of us, perpetually at battle with who we are told to be.
