Since 2008, this channel has been dedicated to the value of woodworking craftsmanship and the industrial trend-setters in the Arts and Craft Era (1880-1920). As a retired woodworker, I have created these historical video tributes to my woodworking heroes. so we can see their accomplishments and their life stories.
Over the last few years, I have enjoyed learning the stories of many of these heroes, and attempting to tell their life story. My goal has been to inspire you to finish the long lost project. I wish I could update many of my earlier videos.
Today, most universities and art museums have developed academic doctoral level programs on furniture history. I recommend those institutions devote more time in educating the general public on furniture history. I recommend that furniture scholars treat every one of my videos as introductory only, and seek additional information from true academic journals and museum-based furniture archives such as Winterthur’s DAPC.
