💬 Checked a new country off the list this week - Andorra, a European microstate, the 16th smallest country in the world by land mass! What’s the smallest country you’ve been to?
🇦🇩 Located between France & Spain, Andorra only covers about 468 square kilometres. It’s best known as a ski destination but it was blistering hot on my day trip visit from Barcelona! Lots of scenic mountains though - and plenty of (less scenic) duty free perfume and cigarette shops in the capital haha

Hi! Christina here from HappyToWander.com 👋🏼 I mostly post practical videos on here so I haven't had a chance to share my story much. SO, for anyone nosy, here’s a brief summary of how I ended up making travel content for a living!
2014: Backpacked Europe for 6 weeks (photo below at baby Christina at the airport!!), panicked at how much I loved it and (in a mad cry for help) started a blog
2015: Landed an internship for a river cruise company, spent the summer cruising Europe and creating content for their channels... often toiling until 3am. Moved to Munich for a study abroad 2 weeks after, met a guy (!) & started taking blogging seriously
2016: Rebranded to ‘Happy to Wander’, a name I still find embarrassing. Started working w/ brands for the 1st time... got invited on my 1st sponsored trip, then went home to finish my degree in Vancouver 🇨🇦
2017: Learned that blogs could be a business, so went all-in post-grad. Got my blog on an ad network, travelled like a madwoman & watched my silly blog land me sponsored trips all over, from Malta to Indonesia
2018: Got a working holiday visa to reunite properly with my bf (still in Munich), exploring as much of Europe as possible in the process
2019: Went grey thanks to the German self-employment visa process. Decided to start a YouTube channel to go along with my blog & went all-in with capturing videos… only for my hard drive to crash and perish, months of clips lost forever
2020: Travel industry collapsed, income wiped out overnight. Abandoned YouTube because it felt weird to post travel content when the industry was paused. Decided to take my skills and panic pivot to new projects.
2021: Moved away from Munich after a blissful few years (bf still in tow - dw!). World began to travel again & business was back to normal (now a full Canadian corporation w/ multiple websites!)
2022: Split time between UK (bf’s home) & Canada (mine), testing where to move. 🇨🇦 kinda won. Social media hiatus no.1392 as I grappled w/ social media overwhelm & focused on blogging instead, with the occasional holiday themed YouTube video.
2023: Went all-in with YouTube again, growing over 40k subs in a year. Realized maybe social media wasn’t so bad!
2024: Making it a goal to build more community on social media, rather than be a weird hermit.
