WIEGO (Women in Informal Employment: Globalizing and Organizing) is a global network composed of membership-based organizations of informal workers and individual researchers, statisticians and development practitioners focused on securing livelihoods for the working poor, especially women, in the informal economy.
We create change by increasing the voice (by building capacity among informal worker organizations), visibility (by expanding the knowledge base on the informal economy), and validity (by influencing the policy and regulatory environment) of the working poor in the informal economy.
