Microsoft is always finding new ways to push OneDrive... Today, they demanded a reason for quitting! I think the option missing from the list below is "I am quitting because you haven't sufficiently irritated me enough to delete it from the registry... but you are getting there fast."

A side effect of ubiquitous phones and computers is we all are on the same "network time" down to the second. This includes the school bell, so now I can set the sprinkler timer to the exact moment when the kids walk on my grass. Ah progress... No more yelling "Get off my lawn!" :)

My first VHS VCR was a top-loader. Most others were front-loaders. Who knew, but apparently there were also side-loaders too! The JVC HR-D470U from 1987 had a unique side-loading mechanism to save space. (I was going to grab it in a thrift auction but the price is rapidly climbing beyond my budget...)

Today in the US (or at least here in Memphis) we got a "National Alert" which on Android phones was an English message, followed by Spanish with an "OK" button. On iOS, it was only in English with no buttons and had to be "swiped" away. Where I was, the Androids got the message first and where my son was, the iPhones were first.

What does that red button do? I believe it activates a 1980s DOS debugging technology called "Periscope" but wanted to check with the Internet first, just in case I'm wrong.

Just visited the free Smithsonian museum in Washington DC, which had some great vintage technology including the 1st Dolby Tape Deck from Advent, an Altair computer, giant RCA Nipper dog stained glass, DuMont TV console, and a Super VHS Camcorder!
