Are the Ten Commandments "Christian?" Video here for context as to why I am asking the question: https://youtu.be/tE8_MOEqg6w
This short biography by T.H.L. Parker has a terrible cover (no doubt), but it does have a lot to commend to the reader:
🚫cover design
✅short, just over 100 pages
✅classic, an essential read on JC
✅fair, an objective assessment of his legacy
✅beautifully written as a series of essays
You can grab this little guy on Kindle (the paperback is too expensive) or borrow it from the Library. Here's a link: amzn.to/4eTWUIw
In as plain language as possible, and without bashing other Christians, please tell me the most important thing(s) that your denomination decided or considered in its summer general assembly, convention, or synod.
I messed up the joke a bit, but it still got a laugh!

🧵I am going to write an entire book by the end of this summer by writing one short section every day for 100 days. I've already outlined the entire book with great specificity and have already written 19 pages this week. (Lord willing!)
I happen to be the kind of person that can do a lot by simply doing a tiny little bit every single day. I have the unusual ability to resolve to do the same thing every single day without faltering by maintaining a rigorous schedule.
By switching my primary Bible reading to the evening, I will give myself 5:45 to 6:30 AM each morning to write until the project is done. I will get started after a brief moment to wake up with coffee and have some prayer.
I had honestly been delaying the start of this book with the excuse that I am "too busy" with the editing of the Jonathan Edwards Study Bible. But honestly, a major portion of this is wrapping up, and I want to get this book out before I sign a new contract for my next major project.
This book has been on my heart for a long time though, and I got tired of writing chapters in my mind without writing them down on paper. So I just got started and resolved to do the thing!
This book is going to be independently published by my own label Indy-Ref (Independent Reformed Media) so I can have author-control over the cover, title, design, and contents. As I have in the past, I will crowd-source the editing. I would be glad to have some of you read the draft and help me clean up the errors that I can't see.
The title of the book will be "Worshiptainment: The Modern Church's Golden Calf" and it will be an aggressive takedown of superficial, banal practices in worship in favor of the Regulative Principle.
Chapters will argue for: the Regulative Principle, Psalm-Singing, expository preaching, liturgy, and humble ordained leadership. 🧵
