The weight of the question "Will I be sad forever?" Is heartbreaking. When you've spent so long in darkness it's hard to imagine the light. For anyone feeling this way it may not be today it may not be this week it may not even be this year but things will get better. You've got a long time on this earth you don't have to have it all perfect and figured out straight away. Life never came with instructions - there's no such thing as wrong, just different. Ohhh dear Lauren. First…I’m sitting here with tears rolling down my face. I felt your pain, I’m familiar with this feeling. Look what being vulnerable and honest will bring. The song…is achingly beautiful. The video is visually powerful. You are not alone. Just because someone is famous and cherished doesn’t mean instant happiness. There is a certain level of loneliness and I’m not sure why. Mental health is everything. So many of us feel this way. Regarding your personal life…I’m making a big assumption the song “Narcissist” happened to you. If the sadness came after your narcissist…then I beg of you to get special counselling for this kind of trauma. You may have had other traumas idk but the road to recovery afterwards is lonely and confusing unless you seek specific help for narcissistic abuse ok? You rarely just move on like you would an ordinary break up or leaving narcissistic family. You can heal I promise. I pray you find your way out of this. There’s a certain poetry in songs that come from sadness that’s the ironic part. I read what you wrote on the announcement that’s why I’m saying something. You are worthy. You are loved. To those who are wondering... You will not be sad forever. Know that there is joy through healing whatever it is you have been through. The sadness serves a purpose, in a strange way it has come about in a way that protects you from worse pain. I went through hell as a child and that sadness first told me to unalive myself when I was only 4. Every day I hated my life and myself for what others had done. But you keep going. You start to unbecome the things you needed to be to survive and you step into your authentic self. One day you will surprise yourself thinking "I love my life." That is the moment you'll know you couldn't possibly be sad forever.

I just came across this song/video as I'm sitting here with a broken heart on Mother's Day, missing my daughter who passed away, one incarcerated. I'm raising my grandson, and I'm feeling sad, defeated, overwhelmed, and not wanting to do life anymore. I know I'm not alone in wanting to give up. Life is just so hard sometimes.
