Plastic cutlery in cross-polarized light!

The colors you see are interference effects from the light and represent stress points throughout the plastic.

This is also known as 'Photoelastic Stress'

Short video I made of them here👇

Yogurt Under a microscope!

This is a homemade batch, but it looks very similar to a lot of the store-bought brands I've looked at!

The black strands you see on the first slide are the probiotics, aka GOOD bacteria.

The second and third slides show two different kinds of good bacteria (Lactobacillus and Streptococcus thermophilus), while the fourth shows a mix of them.

I have a full video and short made if you are interested in seeing how it was made and a little more information than provided here:)

Some close-up shots of Bladder Gall Mites! These cylindrical shaped mites are the reason you see those red spots on maple tree leaves! The red galls are their home where they feed on the tissues of the leaf inside!

This is a few drops of stagnant pond water, and it's full of paramecium cells!

Though it smells unpleasant, it is visually stunning, and you can easily see these single celled organisms with your eyes!

Shelled Amoeba!

Not all amoeba are naked! Some make these shells out of random inorganic debris they find in their environment!

Paramecium😳 If you look closely you can see their cilia, which allows the cell to move around its environment and manipulate the water current to draw in food!

Tiny trumpets everywhere! 🎺

These are Stentor roeselii and are one of the most common stentor cells you will find. Theyre also nicknamed the 'Trumpet Animalcule' due to their shape you see below.
