Format: First 1/2 focuses on upper body, back 1/2 focuses on lower body.

This class, like last week's class is filmed with my new set up so there is enhanced audio and new camera + editing process, so the classes look and sound better. Please take a look at today's class, then go to my indoor classes from a few weeks back and you will see the difference :)

I've been EXCITED about this all week! I filmed a yoga challenge, where we try fun new balances, move through a no-hands flow, and use our strength in unique ways - and it JUST went live!

Level: Intermediate and confident beginners

The flow itself isn't the only thing I'm excited about. I also used a new workflow for this class, so a new filming method, new lighting, new audio, and changes to my editing - improvements were made all around and I LOVE how it turned out. Can you tell the difference? (I really can!)

The first time I tried this new workflow to film this class, I got so distracted with the new filming equipment and process that I forgot to turn on my mic.

For the whole class.
I had totally botched it.

Let me tell you, I was UPSET.

But after 30 mins of beating myself up for doing something so silly, I resigned myself to grace and decided I'd try again the next day.

Do you know what happened?

The class was EVEN better the next day! I was able to offer it more confidently and it turned out more fun for you.

Trials are part of the process. Which is so fitting for the class theme! :)

Wow! Hundreds of you responded to my IG poll on which new class to post today and this 30 Min Deep Stretch Yoga Class won by a surprising amount! I'm deeelighted to share this brand new class that will help improve your flexibility with deep stretches.

This class is a little different. These are not passive poses. They're ACTIVE, they have intention, we will move into deeper space and you will feel the difference by the end of class.

This means your mind,
your heart,
and your breath
need to be relaxed and open to new areas. And I'll guide you through this in class. :)

This one is suitable for yogis who are familiar on their mat and I've included some fun advanced options for those who feel extra stretchy today. I got you!

Swipe to see why I haven't posted a new class in 3 weeks (!) which is the LONGEST gap I've ever gone since I started posting Youtube 2 years ago.

My family was in town from California, where I grew up, and flew across the country to stay with me in Florida. The whole time was incredibly special and I didn't want them to leave. We're supposed to have our loved ones close. Spending time at the beach and pool with my niece (pictured here) was so precious to me that my yoga practice was simply this: presence.

So although my new classes slowed down in June a bit, I have many more classes in the bank and you'll have a fresh class on Saturday as I get back to the regular weekend posting schedule. I'm also filming today so drop any classes you'd like to see in the comments! I love to hear what you'd like to practice.

This class includes active flexibility drills, Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation (PNF), and other stretch reflex work. These techniques have been proven in yoga and calisthenics to effectively get your splits and oversplits.

With these techniques, most students see an immediate improvement in their depth of splits. But remember, splits are a skill you train - just like going to the gym. So this isn't your passive stretch class. These are fun, powerful splits drills!

P.S. On a personal note, I've been on a splits journey for a while! I injured my right hamstring 10 years ago and it has never quite catches up to the mobility of my left leg. There was so much of a disparity that I used to do oversplits easily on my left, but couldn't truly do the splits on my right.

I'm sharing this because:

1. I'm not the only one who is uneven. And some of us will never be even.
2. Keep a consistent practice and it allows for balance to come. When I look back at splits classes I shared here on youtube 1 year ago versus this class, my right splits have improved drastically. These drills helped!

Life update! I've reached a point where I need help in order to grow - both in my yoga and here with you all! My current systems allowed me to get where I am, but to get something new, you gotta DO something new. :)

So I'm building new workflows for classes and working on offloading editing so I can focus more on the yoga and less on the admin. I'm working on a new website that'll live on a different platform and a new yoga program (more on this soon! :). With all this, I didn't drop a new class this weekend, BUT I will have 2 new classes this upcoming week!

Wednesday: Upper Body Yoga
Saturday: Full Body Flow
Daily In Between: Bite-sized yoga shorts with tips in between!

My goal is to be able to post full classes here 2x/week and offer more in-depth programs for those wanting to deepen their practice.

I've been nerding out on yoga anatomy and yoga and the brain. I'm also finishing a yin yoga continued education course that has given me so much juicy info to share with you.
